Ask With Expectation

I heard a man recounting a childhood game in which a child is asked, “If you could have three wishes, what would they be?” He explained rather “matter-of-factly” that, without fail, the third wish would be for more wishes. I’ve played that game. Not once did it occur to me to request unlimited wishes! My thinking was limited! I believe we often approach God this way. No, I am NOT at all suggesting God is a genie!  But we are invited to relate to Him in a way that is far better – as a Heavenly Father with unlimited love for us, unlimited resources and unlimited power. He says it’s His good pleasure to give us the Kingdom! He tells us to come boldly before His throne of grace, and He tells us to ask. He is more than able to meet ALL our need.  May we not have a limited view or expectation of what our God is able to do. May we not turn to the world, or governments, or our own limited capabilities for provision,  but to our true source, our gracious Heavenly Father who is able to do exceeding abundantly above all we are able to ask or think. God, let us come to You humbly with great expectation, that our joy may be full.
